Thoroughbred DNA secrets

Why is DNA a bad word in the thoroughbred world? Lets start with whats wrong with the Speed Gene Test.

The couldn’t have marketed the test sexier. "Pay us and we will tell you if you have a few Group 1 sprint trophies on the way"

You go get a test done on your yearling and its positive for the speed gene. Its a forgone conclusion you might win the Everest. Golden Rose at worst.

Sorry to burst the bubble but we need to explain the fine print. This literature is dense, I read several articles a day and struggle, but lets simplify the important parts; Every test has a H^2 score, after diving into the literature I realised it was illusive - Why? well its not as sexy as the name suggests - which led me to assume the article purposefully dodges the number. You eventually come to a conclusion that the most defensible heritability score is lets say .5 its lower than this but lets keep the millionaire patent holders happy.

This score means that .5 of the result can be attributed to genetics. The rest is up to the environment, the horseman/women and well every other factor we can mention. Those factors are unknown, this project is inventing them and when combined with our data lakes that cover a horse from top to bottom without missing a detail they become alive.

While doing feasibility on PEGASOS and THOROUGHBREDS AI, I discovered a horse, its scored as high on any model I have seen, it was accompanied by a C:C on its MYSTN test supposedly meaning it ran fast.

Additionally it had a brother with good not elite level model scores but its MYSTN test was disappointing. He was older but sold for almost 7x less than his brother who made over a million.

Both scopes and X rays cleared. Born 2 and 3rd, to a Black type Dam.

One full brother won 3 GR1’s a Group 2 and placed in multiple listed races the other, 2 trials and retired. Guess who?

Yes it was the perfect horse. He sucked apparently. Or did he? Many of the best judges went after him. Our competitors models agreed, but they didn't have the information.

Here is why that happened. Yes all the potential was there, and the shame is had I used existing tools on the market I would have agreed, his rasmussen into a legitimate Blue Hen would make most models scream A= or AA - The issue was the lack of  full  genetic report that went further than just genetics. Its highly likely he was allergic to his bedding and he also genetically had muscular skeletal risks, something easily picked up. So he was worked like a horse without that gene or the straw bedding held him in a state of unwell.

Further analysis using our full suite of tools proved him a "NO" but the market disagreed - this was the first moment where I realised I had something others didn't know existed or how to do, it wasn't the ultimate deciding factor to incorporate, ditch the US offers and to get into the trenches. I became a little more enthused when all of the sparse competition rated him as high as their metrics could go.

It did tell me I had information they don't, and that no one else could get. Most importantly the incumbent tools were off, and people were making decisions based off these tools in good faith.

Here was the problem - no one has the information required to prove that horse B was better than Horse A. At the time I didnt, but I did have the tech to obtain it. The other problem was the lack of research on a scale not seen before to extract this knowledge. I am no genetics guru, but I knew that so I went in with open eyes. When I discovered the Speed Gene Test I was impressed, its marketed as a patented test should be. To sell. Ive seen dog breeds with DNA research 10 years ahead of thoroughbreds.

So back to the H^2 score or heritability score a .5 means the horse has a genetic marker that indicates 50% of this particular candidate gene means he has the ability to run fast. Horses without it dont have that genetic makeup.

So what about the other 50% - well here is where the problems start, there are currently no answers, we have some and will publish in time. The test we offer aim to answer this.

The answers are hard to find, you need specialist working on it and these specialist number about 5 in Australia, the strategy we used to win global elections is the same we use to solve these problems, it took many millions of dollars and over ten years to solve it so its safe to say we are capable of delivering on the problem while cutting through the marketing, most importantly being transparent. So you dont read in a blog that it should really be called "A possibility of having genes other horses don't that will make it run faster" You learn it on our platform as you ingest it.

Even after all of that it still requires a professional in the industry to offer what Ai, Data, and algorithms cant. That being instincts that humans cant explain, a subconscious recall of a breeders blood lines and personal relationships developed over years.

There isnt a product available other than ours that can truly guide those elite men and women.

So imagine a map, a X marks the spot - other than that it’s completely empty now... find the gold. Or engage the one company with over a decade at not finding gold but building the maps. Now find the gold.

Slowly we will release our top to bottom ai system in a application thats simple to use. We are obsessed with the product and until we get there, we will invest whatever it takes to ensure its simple, understandable and ensures when selecting or analysing a horse you only have one screen open.

When you get access these algorithms are so smart, and as long as you input your opinions they will learn your knowledge, understand your and will be able to stack this knowledge on top of our tech which is unlike anything in the market. This means that everyone gets a version thats different to their competition.

DNA shouldnt be a bad word in the breeding circles, this is about access to knowledge not editing genes to erode the integrity of the breed. DNA is a tool that will provide answers, makes selections easier, help the breeder make more money and have more horses sound enough to get to the track.

We have partnered with the formost experts on the planet to offer the best DNA test possible, for use now and for use when further discoveries appear. We are financially supporting this process which commercially would be in the thousands per horse. We are happy to do this, and it expected of us to prove our findings. So simply apply, all you need to apply is to have Broodmares, yearlings or weenlings. The test is a simple hair test, once approved youll have access to our portal where you add your horses or stable and then simply click a button and a few days later a package arrives, the rest of the information is enclosed.

Its important to note - There are no good or bad tests, just knowledge. Additionally in the terms and conditions disclosure from our end is warranted, if someone finds out youve tested your stable it wont have come from us, we will codify this as a condition of testing.

Testing for farms with 2 horses to 500 horses is welcomed, if you wish to as a stallion owner optimise the selection of mares for the breeding system fill out the form and we will discuss the process.
